We cannot type Traditional Chinese with iBus if the locale is English.
Comment 1 Koala Yeung 2012-10-11 03:33:32 UTC
We need either:
1. a way to set the default Chinese character filter in Control Panel; or
2. a way to configure iBus Chinese character filter in input method interface.
Comment 2 Bastien Nocera 2012-10-11 06:11:58 UTC
As mentioned by Ma Xiaojun on the list, GNOME can't help the ibus engine being broken.
Comment 3 Koala Yeung 2012-10-11 10:37:43 UTC
I know it is not Gnome's fault. But it should be part of Gnome team's responsibility now. GNOME chose to integrate ibus because input method is essential to user experience. User experience is not limited to look and feel of input method.

When integrated, ibus should be taken care as a 1st class citizen.

Filing bugs in the wrong bug tracker won't help any of that. It's wasting our time.
