Description Georgiy Treyvus 2012-10-09 02:24:13 UTC
This problem effects GNOME 3.4 onwards.

On GNOME 3.2 and earlier when I pressed the Print Screen button to take a screenshot the screenshot was taken just like it is now. The key difference is that back then a small popup appeared and asked me where I want to save it. Hell it even asked me if I wanted to save it which was nice as I'm sure we sometimes press the Print Screen button accidentally. Now the screen just flashes white briefly and gnome-screenshot just saves it to ~/Pictures(or in my case since I deleted that directory to ~) without asking where I want it or even if I want to save it as again I (and I'm sure many others) sometimes press the Print Screen button by accident.

Granted I can later rename, move, delete, or do whatever with the screenshot but this is quite annoying and I shouldn't have to do this. This really ruins the experience from a user perspective. GNOME 3.2 and earlier had correct behaviour regarding the Print Screen button. Please fix this regression as soon as you can.
