Description Jakub Steiner 2012-10-02 13:44:52 UTC
When I select a remote location from the Bookmarks section of the sidebar (sftp:// in my case), nothing happens for good 5 seconds while nautilus is connecting and pulling the directory listing. It would be desirable to put a spinner next to the app menu and possibly even replacing the symbolic icon next to the item in the sidebar.
Comment 1 William Jon McCann 2012-10-02 13:58:27 UTC
And maybe show an info bar (bug 658094).
Comment 2 Cosimo Cecchi 2012-10-02 21:58:15 UTC
The "spinner next to the app menu" part of this will need the API suggested in bug 672018

Comment 5 André Klapper 2021-06-18 15:29:43 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
