When Ekiga has been shut down, ekiga.exe remains as a task, and must be shut down via the Windows Task Manager.

Version 3.2.7, Windows 7.

Could you use ekiga 3.9.90 instead (http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Windows_Users)?  Note that the configuration file is copied to another place by 3.9.90, so modifications in one ekiga version are not visible to the other version.

Ekiga 3.9.90 refuses to die too, is that right?

Then the only solution to find out the problem is to give us a gdb stacktrace, cf. http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Debugging_Ekiga#How_to_get_a_stack_backtrace_from_a_crash, see the freeze part especially.
