The NetRexx syntax file

I would like to contribute this NetRexx syntax file to GtkSourceView.

I have used it for awhile now. It probably could use some tweaking by someone more experienced.

I have loaded gedit with all the NetRexx samples at once ( 14000 plus lines and reviewed ) and it only misses coloring lines that have multiple comment types that are mixed and split across many lines.

I have been using it in gedit for months with the java-gnome bindings and it would be a great addition to gtk and gnome editors.

If I need to change wording of copyright, license or whatever just let me know.

The file extension for NetRexx is *.nrx

NetRexx can be found at http://www.netrexx.org

NetRexx is now open source

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.

Please move the new file to POTFILES.in. I know it's past the string freeze, but this causes a whole new "Sources" menu to appear in English in localized gedit. I'm sure you can get an exception if you ask.

Besides, it is covered by either "Marking a message for translation that was previously not marked for translation by accident" or "Adding a file to POTFILES.in that was previously not included in POTFILES.in by accident" (even if it wasn't entirely by accident), so a break request is not required, just a notice to gnome-i18n is sufficient.
Comment 4 Paolo Borelli 2012-09-18 06:34:55 UTC
But those strings are not shown anywhere at the moment (except for the name which even if translated is still "NetRexx", that's why we usually do it this was, it is not the first time...
Comment 5 Piotr Drąg 2012-09-18 13:49:01 UTC
I know it's how it's been done before, but I always wondered why there is additional "Sources" menu in gedit while I have translated "Źródła" already...

In 3.4 we have Sources > Automake (see screenshot), and in 3.6 we will have Sources > NetRexx:

<language id="netrexx" _name="NetRexx" version="2.0" _section="Sources">

I don't care about translation of NetRexx (it's probably here for transliteration), but the other string is important, *and* translated already. Maybe you could add this file to POTFILES.in and remove _ from _name="NetRexx"?

Oh, you are right! I didn't realize this would show up there... Feel free to push a patch to POTFILES.in and sorry for the confusion
Comment 8 Piotr Drąg 2012-09-18 13:57:13 UTC
Thanks! I'll send a notice to gnome-i18n, so no worries about translators. :)
