Honestly, I don't understand what was so important about the sessionMode changes to push those two weeks before hard code freeze - there's exactly zero benefit to *users* (except a negative impact for every regression we don't catch until release), so waiting for 3.7 would have allowed us to focus on other bugfixing instead - or not interrupting vacations, thanks a lot for that :-(
