GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 682829
Add an "auto rotate and center" button to the print dialog
Last modified: 2018-05-24 13:18:03 UTC
Created attachment 222586 [details] V2.2 print dialog with orientation - auto setting In v2.2 the print dialog could by default rotate and scale an image so that when it printed it was as big as it could be. This was a desirable feature that no longer seems to be available. The rotation was accomplished with an orientation setting that had an option for Auto. If the image was wider than tall, Gimp would automatically choose to print it landscape. The scaling was actually a little flaky, but by default it expanded the image to fit the page. I have attached a screen capture of the old dialog.
Are you really using 2.6.2? If so, please check 2.8.2 first. :)
(In reply to comment #1) > Are you really using 2.6.2? If so, please check 2.8.2 first. :) Yes, that is what is available on SLED 11 SP2 which is a brand new release. Any suggestions on an easy way to install something newer?
This bug is about having "auto rotate and center" button in the print dialog, just as 2.6 used to have. The wording of the bug could have been better tho ;)
