GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 682741
Moving canvas is laggy and is producing temporary artefacts
Last modified: 2012-09-04 07:27:43 UTC
To recreate open any image, press space and move canvas around rapidly. You will see how image is temporary distorted and artifacts are appearing all around it. Moving canvas becomes bit laggy as well. When you stop moving canvas will settle down. Happens all the time for me on windows 7, 64bit.
Created attachment 223388 [details] Artefacts when dragging canvas in Gimp 2.8.2, on Windows 7 64bit. Screenshot taken while dragging the canvas around (by holding space and moving the mouse) in Windows 7 64bit. The canvas is actually positioned where the right copy is, but the copy on the left did not get cleared when redrawing. The vertical bars tend to appear when dragging left-right, the horizontal bars appear when dragging up-down. In this case, I was dragging diagonally between bottom-left and top-right.
I'm pretty sure this bug is a duplicate of bug 674051 - "Scrolling zoom in view" probably doesn't convey the exact problem much...
