Description Paul Menzel 2012-08-22 08:16:23 UTC
Upgrading from Evolution 3.2.2 to 3.4.3 bug 671437 in GTK+ partly resurfaced.

I experienced bug 671437 too and the patch from the report was applied to the Debian package [1][2] and upgrading to these packages solved the issue for me.

Now it partly reappeared that it only happens when selecting text.

I am using the Awesome window manager [3].

Please advise if 671437 should be reopened or if this is an Evolution regression.

As reported in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=682321#c5 my situation is identical to Paul's.
Comment 2 Paul Menzel 2012-08-22 09:39:42 UTC
Russell, could you upload another screenshot of that problem depicting the current state of the problem? That would be awesome!

Evolution 3.4.4 using GTK+ 3.2

Here's a screen shot of Evolution 3.4.4 using GTK+ 3.2. The highlight color is correct. Reassigning.

Note, that Russell is using Xfce 4.x.

Matthew, what window manager was used when taking that screenshot?

With Evolution 3.4.3 or 3.4.4?

Additionally, could you please try with Xfce since as far as I know this bug neither happens with GTK+ 3.2 nor(?) GTK+ 3.4 when using GNOME, since that sets the system theme somehow.

I don't think we'll figure this out at this point, 3.4 is firmly in the past.
