Description Allan Day 2012-08-20 08:25:22 UTC
The Super+M keybinding opens the message tray. It should close it too.
Comment 1 Jasper St. Pierre (not reading bugmail) 2012-08-20 08:28:41 UTC
Known issue, hard to fix. We block handling of all keybindings when we take a modal grab.

Giovanni has a set of fixes we can piggyback off of in bug #613543

Comment 4 Guillaume Desmottes 2012-10-09 14:31:20 UTC
I second this. I miss IM messages so often (thanks bug #641723 ) that I often quickly open/close the message tray just to check if there are no unread messages pending there. Typing Super+M twice would allow me to quickly check this.
Comment 5 Jasper St. Pierre (not reading bugmail) 2012-10-09 14:35:44 UTC
It's annoying and hard, but it can be done. Florian said he had a set of WIP patches. Florian, would you mind giving an update status for that?
Comment 6 Florian Müllner 2012-10-09 14:54:36 UTC
I've switched to a release-candidates branch a while before 3.6, updating the branch to recent changes (session-mode etc) and cleaning it up for bugzilla will be at the top of my list once we branch for 3.7.

Jasper> When I open the tray with Super+M, it is possible to close with with Esc key. So there are some keybindings active during the tray is shown
Comment 9 Jasper St. Pierre (not reading bugmail) 2012-10-25 12:12:19 UTC
I'm not sure what you're trying to prove, Izidor. If you don't think it's that hard, try it yourself.

Jasper, I don't think Izidor was trying to "prove" anything. I'm sure he was just trying to be helpful. :)
Comment 11 Izidor Matušov 2012-10-27 15:08:20 UTC
Jasper, I am sorry that my comment sounded harsh to you. I just wanted to point out, that you can close the tray using Esc key, not only by clicking at a icon. It was a reaction to comment #2.
Comment 12 Florian Müllner 2012-11-17 01:12:55 UTC
Fixed as part of bug 688202.
