The integrated screen recorder [1] no longer creates separate .webm files for subsequent invocations. It creates a single file. If you record several videos, it appends all of it into the single file. If you delete this file, no new .webm file is created in your home.

Current workaround is that you have to restart gnome-shell every time you want to record a separate video.
