Description DieEnte@ist-einmaoig.de 2012-08-11 09:48:05 UTC
Hi,
I have ubuntu 12.04
orca Version: 3.4.0-0ubuntu2
nautilus 1:3.4.1-0ubuntu1

When I want to rename a file name in nautilus Orca does not read the taged file name and orca does not spell it and does not read single characters.
Comment 1 DieEnte@ist-einmaoig.de 2012-08-14 13:08:48 UTC
I have seen today, that this bug appears only in the view mode of symbilic view (strg+1) and compact view (strg+3).
In the view mode of list view (strg+2) it works.

Hope it will help you solving it.
Comment 2 André Klapper 2012-08-31 10:13:42 UTC
Sounds more likely like a problem in Nautilus...
Comment 3 DieEnte@ist-einmaoig.de 2012-08-31 15:37:54 UTC
it is possible to forward this bug to the nautilus project or
should I post a new report for nautilus?
Comment 4 André Klapper 2012-08-31 16:35:48 UTC
Please no new report. Product of a report can be changed once it's clear.
Comment 5 William Jon McCann 2012-09-05 16:10:01 UTC
Seems to work fine here in master. Does it still occur for you with master?
Comment 6 Cosimo Cecchi 2012-09-05 16:48:43 UTC
I believe this is the same issue as bug 672498

Comment 7 DieEnte@ist-einmaoig.de 2012-09-05 18:43:35 UTC
is Master = root?
I launched nautilus as root.
But it is the same.

in the icon and compact view orca does not read or spell the filenames, when I want to rename or edit them.
Comment 8 Cosimo Cecchi 2012-09-05 18:45:09 UTC
Master is git master, i.e. the latest development code. Those fixes have also been backported to the gnome-3-4 branch, but are not in any released stable version yet.
