Description Robert Roth 2012-08-10 22:31:36 UTC
Forwarded from https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-monitor/+bug/1003836, originally reported by mehly

System Monitor shows: under System (Processor: Intel® Xeon(R) CPU X5675 @ 3.07GHz × 19) and under Resources all 24 Cores

System Settings> Details> Overview Is also reporting 19 cores instead of 24 "Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5645 @ 2.40Ghz x 19"

/proc/cpuinfo available at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-monitor/+bug/1003836/+attachment/3233586/+files/cpuinfo
Comment 1 Robert Roth 2012-08-11 09:24:02 UTC
I have checked with the given cpuinfo, and glibtop sysinfo->ncpu is 19, so I am reassigning this to libgtop.
Comment 2 Robert Roth 2013-08-21 22:52:18 UTC
The problem was that the buffer size to hold the cpuinfo file being "only" 16384 bytes, but the cpuinfo from the attachment was 21030 bytes long, so it has been truncated.
Comment 3 Robert Roth 2013-12-12 20:37:41 UTC
This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.
