Description Igor D. 2012-08-10 04:30:29 UTC
Compressed rar files can't be open if file is saved with other than .rar extension.
File Roller doesn't make check, just get report that can't open .ziped file.

It isn't quite bug, but maybe missing or good feature to have.
Comment 1 André Klapper 2012-08-10 07:23:46 UTC
The question is: What MIME type does the file have?
That is more relevant than the extension...
Comment 2 Igor D. 2012-08-10 07:59:35 UTC
Yes, you're right.
So. MIME type rar files saved as .zip doesn't work, can't open them with File Roller v3.4.1.
If i change it to .rar then it works normally.

Thank you.

Marking as a duplicate of a newer bug (which has a slightly better description).
