Description Michael 2012-08-03 06:53:21 UTC
A vlan entry in e/n/i defined as:

    iface eth0.1 inet dhcp

or as:

    iface vlan1 inet dhcp
      vlan-raw-device eth0

is shown correctly in nm-applet as "ifupdown(eth0.1)" or "ifupdown(vlan1)", but network manager brings up eth0 instead of eth0.1.

NM: 0.9.4.0-0ubuntu4.1
OS: Ubuntu Precise 12.04

A patch here would be great. I'm not sure any of the core developers are running Debian/Ubuntu.
Comment 3 Pavel Simerda 2013-02-12 23:12:22 UTC
We don't care so much about ifupdown except the 'unmanage' feature.

NM bugzilla reorganization... sorry for the bug spam.
Comment 5 André Klapper 2020-11-12 14:25:59 UTC
bugzilla.gnome.org is being shut down in favor of a GitLab instance.
We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time.

If you still use NetworkManager and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a recent and supported version of NetworkManager, then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/issues/

Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (workforce and time is unfortunately limited).
