I recently updated form GIMP 2.6 to 2.8. Overall, i'm happy about it, especially the single window mode.
However, when it comes time to save, i am used to doing Ctrl+S or Ctrl+Shift+S. Now, exporting is in a seperate menu (Ctrl+Shift+E) than simply saving. It doesn't make sense to split them up, because exporting is just saving as a normal image file.

The change has been done on purpose and is here to stay. No need to file bugs about it.

Too bad for me i guess.
I realized it was probably intentional, but perhaps the devs overlooked the usablity hindrance.
