Description eduncan 2002-01-04 21:41:34 UTC
I went into the network settings on three different workstations running
RedHat 7.5 to try and figure out how to add a NIC to the hardware. After
rebooting on all 3 workstations I received the following error :

Process 9635
Application "panel" has crashed due to fatal error
(Segmentation fault)

This seems to be a problem with all 3 workstations and only seems to
effect the logon account which was active when the network settings were
accesses...even though it asks you for the root password to view these
settings. The toolbar at the bottom of the screen is missing after
the 'close' button is clicked on the error message and does not return
after reboot.

eduncan: what version of the panel are you running? and can you get a
stack trace? [Also, since RH's newest version is 7.2, what RH are you
actually running?]

Please try the latest (1.4.x) version of gnome-core and gnome-libs
from http://download.gnome.org/ Contact me if you need RPMS.
