GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 680498
/etc/resolv.conf not created during bootstrap
Last modified: 2012-08-05 03:39:07 UTC
Created attachment 219541 [details] live.log from failed bootstrap I have successfully booted the kernel/initramfs over PXE. During the bootstrap, DHCP receives the DNS server's IP address, and it claims to create /etc/resolv.conf, but does not actually make the file. Since I have chosen to fetch the filesystem from a name instead of an IP address, the DNS lookup fails, and the filesystem fails to download. Manually creating /etc/resolv.conf allows nslookups to succeed.
Thank you Zach for your interest in improving GParted Live. Steven, Do you have time to look further into this issue? Curtis.
Yes, I found the issue is on live-boot. I will dig more and fix this issue recently. Steven.
