Description Federico Mena Quintero 2012-07-20 18:14:47 UTC
(I'm not sure if it is gnome-shell that deals directly with notifications for removable media - apologies if the bug needs redirecting.)

The message tray shows a convenient item for removable devices, and they have "eject" buttons. When I click one of them, however, the message tray just hides but it doesn't tell me when the device is actually unmounted so I can remove it safely.

It would be nice to get a message like "$device can be safely removed now" - more of an issue with USB sticks than with things that really eject themselves like CDs, I suppose.
