Description Alex Shpilkin 2012-07-15 18:15:32 UTC
I encountered an MKV video file that, when played over FTP, gives rise to the above error message, both with "gst-launch-0.10 -v playbin2 uri=$URL" and "gst-launch-0.10 -v giosrc location=$URL ! matroskademux ! fakesink" (and in Totem). Overall, this looks totally identical #626463, except for the required block size.

__tim on #gstreamer said that the block size limit is 15 MB currently; he also suggested setting GST_PLAY_FLAG_DOWNLOAD on playbin2, but (a) I don't know if Totem enables it and (b) Matroska is not whitelisted for download buffering anyway.

Is such a file meant to be supported? (Unfortunately, it's too big to just upload it somewhere.)

Can you upload it to dropbox or something?

Closing this bug report as no further information has been provided. Please feel free to reopen this bug report if you can provide the information that was asked for in a previous comment.
Thanks!

(Note that the first couple of MB are usually enough to demonstrate the problem.)
