Description Pat Farrell 2012-07-07 15:40:41 UTC
I had to de-install my old copy of gedit and re-install the latest gedit (3.2.6) after I upgraded my Mac to Lion.

The file dialog boxes, both open and save (which I assume are the same box) show the file names
in alphabetical order only when the file name lengths are the same. This may be a desirable feature for some, but it at least needs an option to order the file names alphabetically without regard to the file name length.

I want something like:

addresses.sql
agents.sql
appcite.sql
application.sql
appusers.sql
assignees.sql
billableevent.sql
claims.sql
classsubclass.sql
collectedreferral.sql

yet gedit 3.2.6 on my Mac Lion shows

agents.sql
claims.sql
addresses.sql
application.sql
billableevent.sql
classsubclass.sql

Is this a symptom of Bug #612019?
Comment 2 Pat Farrell 2012-07-08 21:38:57 UTC
Could be related. I don't see the problem with Gimp 2.6.11 on my Lion box. But it may be manifest in more recent versions.

It is related, I've tracked this issue before to glib collation.
