Description Konstantine Rybnikov 2012-07-07 09:47:41 UTC
Hi!
I have Ubuntu 12.04 installed and whenever I (and, as google search shows, not it's not only me) try to format my USB drive, it says "Daemon is inhibited" error.

Which g-d-u version is this about?
Comment 2 Konstantine Rybnikov 2012-07-09 11:03:06 UTC
Yeah, basically all user-questions on this end up with "try gparted" (which works, and I also used GParted every time this happened before, but I think that's wrong and this bug should be fixed :)

Architecture: amd64
Version: 3.0.2-2ubuntu7

I believe this bug also happened before.

Thanks!
Comment 3 André Klapper 2012-07-09 11:08:00 UTC
3.0.x is probably not supported anymore in upstream - too old.
Comment 4 David Zeuthen (not reading bugmail) 2012-11-15 18:21:06 UTC
As of gnome-disk-utility 3.4 everything was rewritten to use udisks2 and GDBus. Since this bug is for an old version, closing with resolution OBSOLETE.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes for the version that you use.

By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GNOME.
