This would be useful for Totem's thumbnailer.

Unfortunately, no sample files here that don't have "0" as the value.

It sounds like it could be done with a tag field. There are some other fields like the preview position/duration, maybe they should be done with TOC?

I could not find a single file that has something else than 0 there either, so I have to wonder whether it's worth it tbh...
