GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 679186
Empathy Sends and Receives Latin-inside-Hebrew with Incorrect Directionality (LTR vs. RTL)
Last modified: 2013-01-02 15:35:25 UTC
As the two screenshots which will be attached soon show, when communicating using Empathy ( empathy-3.4.2.3-1.mga3 on Mageia Linux Cauldron ), on LXDE on an x86-64 computer, then the Hebrew sent and received by Empathy lacks any RTL identifiers, causing the order of the Hebrew and Latin components to be left-to-right instead of Right-to-left. This also influences the other end, namely Pidgin, which is handled fine between two Pidgin clients. I'm talking from one @gmail.com address to the other. Regards, -- Shlomi Fish
Created attachment 217694 [details] Empathy Screenshot This is a screenshot of Empathy. One can see that the Hebrew components in the message sent are in the opposite direction of the recalled message, and that the message sent by Pidgin is displayed incorrectly as well.
Created attachment 217695 [details] Pidgin Screenshot This is a screenshot of empathy. The Hebrew message received by Empathy is reversed.
