Description Atri 2012-06-30 03:26:22 UTC
Hi!
Thanks for making this excellent application, that I use for a lot of my latex work.

One little thing that I believe can improve is the icon for latexila on the desktop menu. Since GNOME 3, the desktop menu icons are placed spread out on the entire desktop by gnome-shell, and this makes applications that do not have high resolution icons (like latexila) end up looking very bad on the Applications overview. Shipping the icon in various sizes (in the hicolor icon directory for example) upto 256x256 would solve the problem, and make the latexila look like a first class GNOME 3 application right from the applications overview.

Thanks a lot!

Yes, this would be nice to have a new icon, available in SVG, and which is suited for both small sizes (16x16, 24x24, …) and large sizes (256x256, …).

Unfortunately, the current icon is not available in SVG. The original size is 165x195. Maybe a temporary solution is to make a 200x200 icon, but I don't know if it will work as expected in gnome-shell. Or create a 256x256 icon by increasing the margins (so there would be no pixellization, but the icon would be smaller than the others).

The current icon is actually the second icon of LaTeXila. The first icon came from the logo, and is available in SVG. But it was quite ugly for small sizes.

There have been some attempts to create a new icon:

Fixed:

Finally a 192x192 is OK for gnome-shell too.
