I have lost so many precious notes like this that I now have a bloody cron backing hte entire thing up every 12 hours.. If a note is open and the computer crashes, power dies or whatever on occasion you will come back to a zerosum file for the note and it will be lost forever.  This bug has been present for years.

Yes I agree about this issue. We are at a hackfest this weekend, maybe we can look deeply into this issue and come up with a fix.
