GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 677756
Unrealistic file size forecast in export dialog
Last modified: 2012-06-09 15:52:37 UTC
Created attachment 216031 [details] Screenshot of the export dialog showing 1.3GB as the file size I was going to export a 1200x800 px image as a JPEG. When the export options dialo opens, you can choose the quality for the exported image. Activating the preview checkbox yields a file size forecast of 1.3 GB in my case. The value is a) way too big and b) doesn't change in any way based on selected parameters. How to reproduce this (in my case): 1. Create a new image, let's say 1200x800 px, just white 2. Go ahead and export it as white.jpeg 3. Check the "preview" checkbox 4. See that 1.3 GB is shown as the probable resulting file size. See the attachment for more information - I created it with Gimp using German for the dialogs.
