GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 677229
Notifications are not keyboard accessible/navigable
Last modified: 2012-08-27 08:47:01 UTC
It should be possible for blind people to access the notification area (and make then reconizeble) in the gnome-shell.
gnome-shell notifications work fine for me. What version of gnome-shell are you using?
I´m using gnome 3.4. How can i navigate to the bar on the bottom of the gnome-shell? so i would see the abrt or changing devices. Greetings :)
Aha! So the problem is that whether you are using Orca or not, you cannot move focus to them. Makes more sense. Thank you for the clarification. Moving this bug to gnome-shell because it is not an Orca bug.
No Problem i wanna just help :). But i must work on my bug reports ... i know :)... In future it will be better. i swear :D.
Notifications are keyboard navigable on the master now (so available for GNOME 3.6). Anyway the elements of that panel doesn't have a proper label, so I will not close this bug yet.
Created attachment 222343 [details] [review] Set a label_actor for the summary items on the message tray I create a Label using the title of the source as the text. I suppose that this would be a good label for those buttons, as I assume that the title should be something short. On my jhbuild environment I was only able to try it with a connection problem notification, and the title was "Connection error", that was fine to me.
