Dia crashes when changing size of Resizable Grid Object
Last modified: 2014-08-27 09:15:32 UTC
Created attachment 214961 [details] example file When I try to resize a recently duplicated Resizable Grid Object (found on the default Misc sheet) Dia crashes. The grid object is a 1 x 12 and I was resizing it to a 1 x 8. OS Windows XP SP3 Dia 0.97-2 Contact me directly for any further questions/details. If you are really using the prerelease version of Dia 0.97 from 2009 you should first update to a more recent version, e.g. 0.97.2 from 2011-12-18. There was a bug fix fitting your description before the final 0.97 release. See: http://git.gnome.org/browse/dia/commit/?id=cddd958b71a4075751ab76ac3530ced3c33972ea
Actually I am using version 0.97.2. The form here on Bugzilla was a little confusing as to choosing in the drop down box which version I was using. I just downloaded Dia yesterday for the first time. Love it so far and I worked around the issue by just "not duplicating" the grid but creating a new one. But I though the developers would like to know about the crash. I included a Microsoft error report detailing the offending parts. At your service, Michael Cook Columbia, SC 803-386-9353 noexit2000@gmail.com
The attached file contains the version information, but I can't find any other useful information in it - nothing about the crash. But checking your file I can reproduce the crash. 1) copy the group from the center of the diagram 2) ungroup it 3) copy the grid element 4) resize it to 1x8 The bug was not reproducable for me with current master (that's what I checked before comment 2).
Just noticed that the whole bug was already fixed in 2010 on master, now dia-0-97 has the full fix as well: http://git.gnome.org/browse/dia/commit/?h=dia-0-97&id=ae8bcaa703197d090c0c746c54289ddcc6bbbbb1 http://git.gnome.org/browse/dia/commit/?h=dia-0-97&id=b9b279e8bd77e0fb27176d64baa75563054ac5e1 Not sure if there will be a 0.97.3 release at all, but this bug is the first on it's list.
