For the last few days I've been getting lots of dialogs like the attached. Even at some points multiple overlapping ones at once. There is no visible update viewer window.

Finally looking into it a bit I found that I have a process running:
mccann   18173     1  0 May13 ?        00:00:16 /usr/bin/gpk-update-viewer

Trying to gdb it I get:
/usr/bin/gpk-update-viewer.#prelink#.zdPLDg (deleted): No such file or directory.

I'm taking a guess that an update broke it somehow.

A solution for that will be to only install updates during reboot in a limited operational mode.

Short term I think we can do a number of things better.

 * Make sure to log all errors and warnings to syslog of the journal
 * Never show multiple error dialogs at once
 * Never show a dialog when there is no window
 * Make errors modal
 * Make the error display less technical and scary - basically sad computer

We're doing offline updates now with gnome-software.
