Shell's top panel often fails to hide in fullscreen apps

The gnome shell's top panel often does not hide when I start an application in fullscreen. Sometimes it does hide after some time but sometimes it remains. I tested the following applications in fullscreen mode: - youtube player (flash based, Chromium stable) - minecraft - and several others
