Graphic Tablet (Hanvon): Axis are assigned incorrectly
Last modified: 2012-05-13 08:43:47 UTC
/* I've already submitted a very detailed report on this bug a few weeks ago. However, I haven't received feedback of any kind up till now, so I assume that the last report was lost in the void or something like that. I'm really sorry, if the original report is still being worked on and I'm double-reporting the bug. */ System: fully updated Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Gimp: 2.8.0, installed using Jernej Simončič's windows-installer. bug did already occur when using 2.8.0-RC1, but not using 2.6.x Graphics Tablet: Hanvon Art Master AM 0806 The Tablet is listed in the 'input devices' as WACOM Tablet Eraser Stylus /Pressure Stylus /Puck. Depending on which of the devices I enable on screen/window, there are different results, none of them working correctly. The most significant is when setting the 'WACOM Tablet Pressure Stylus' to 'screen'. When doing so, the little paintbrush icon and the crosshair are mapped correctly to the tablet (when I move my stylus to the right, the icon moves right). However, the dotted indication of brush size and the point, where the drawing actual drawing happens are dislocated from the crosshair in such a way, that the axes are switched around. -The Tablet's y-axis is mapped to gimp's x-axis (when I move my stylus downwards, the dotted brush-indication moves to the right). -The velocity on the Tablet's x-axis is mapped to gimp's pressure axis (When I move my stylus to the left or the right, the paintbrush is applied where the dotted brush indication can be seen. If I enable brush-dynamics with pressure->size, faster movement will result in a bigger brush). - The Tablet's pressure-axis is mapped to gimp's y-axis (When applying high pressure to the stylus, the dotted brush-indication's position is further down than when applying little pressure). The bug is gimp2.8-exclusive. gimp2.6.x as well as other programs (tested with paint tool sai) do not show this behaviour. Tablet driver's have been de- and reinstalled as well. If there are further questions, please ask.
