Description Dan Winship 2012-05-08 12:41:13 UTC
(from https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=462602)

When nm-pptp fails to establish an pptp vpn connection
Throw a msg bubble to the user of what went wrong and what
and suggest a solution to fix it.

For example nm failed to establish vpn connection make sure that
port 1723 is open in the firewall etc..

Here's the error code list from M$ not sure if it helps.?

from https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=519175:

Unfortunately, it's a bit hard to figure this out except for screenscraping
/var/log/messages which kinda sucks. Also, unless pptp/pppd is run in verbose
debug mode (which isn't pretty and also dumps to /var/log/messages) it's not
possible to determine every cause of failure. But we'll see what we can do.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being shut down in favor of a GitLab instance.
We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time.

If you still use NetworkManager and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a recent and supported version of NetworkManager, then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/issues/

Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (workforce and time is unfortunately limited).
