Description Carlos Soriano 2012-05-08 11:05:52 UTC
Emapthy, randomly, but too normally, tell me "You need to setup an account to see contacts here", and accoutns are already added. I can enter to accounts settings, so I can't see what happens.

Also it always happens when I have this bug 675668 also.
Comment 1 Guillaume Desmottes 2012-05-09 08:14:15 UTC
Is there accounts in ~/.mission-control/accounts/accounts.cfg when this happen?

Would be good if you could attach logs (help - debug) as well.
Comment 2 Carlos Soriano 2012-05-09 09:29:34 UTC
Which log you need?

I type info debug in terminal, but I didn't understand very much.
How I can give you a debug information?
Comment 3 Guillaume Desmottes 2012-05-09 09:50:41 UTC
in Empathy, open the help -> debug menu.
Comment 4 Carlos Soriano 2012-05-14 08:36:29 UTC

Also, your debug is very useful, with pastebin integrated, and other beautiful things. Good work =)
Comment 5 Carlos Soriano 2012-05-14 08:41:05 UTC
Also, before all of this I get an error (by apport-gtk of ubuntu) telling me that telephaty failed with crash.
Comment 6 Guillaume Desmottes 2012-05-15 06:36:35 UTC
Indeed, looks like telepathy-mission-control is crashing. Could you report this crash using apport and link the crash report here?

Comment 8 Carlos Soriano 2012-05-15 09:36:47 UTC
Sorry, I can't...apport-gtk is not working properly in gnome 3.4 (I already did a bug report to ubuntu). Only show the crash message but doesn't send the report.
I can do a screenshot with the details of the crash, if not other way possible to report.
Comment 9 Guillaume Desmottes 2012-05-15 11:36:27 UTC
Let's try to get a trace manually then:
- install telepathy-mission-control-5-dbg
- Quit Empathy
- killall -9 /usr/lib/telepathy/mission-control-5
- export MC_DEBUG=all
- gdb /usr/lib/telepathy/mission-control-5
- 'r' in gdb
- Reproduce the crash
- 'bt full' in gdb
- attach the output

thanks!
Comment 10 Carlos Soriano 2012-05-15 13:54:43 UTC
um...I can't reproduce the error...it happens randomly. How about the screenshot of the repport-gtk details of crash?
Or another way to report just when crash?
Comment 11 Carlos Soriano 2012-05-15 14:00:28 UTC
If not, I do this each time I use empathy....but it is a annoying way to report. But if it the only way, no problem =)
Comment 12 Carlos Soriano 2012-05-15 17:53:29 UTC
Don't worry, I have the bug now with debug. I think it's a telepathy bug, please confirm and I will report in freedesktop.

Is it possible that if telepathy fails, accounts-settings fails? If so, as I say, probably it is a telepathy bug.
Comment 13 Guillaume Desmottes 2012-05-16 09:51:30 UTC
Indeed, that's a telepathy-mission-control bug, please report to bugs.freedesktop.org
