GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 675665
Deleted messages don't stay deleted (on IMAP)
Last modified: 2014-02-18 13:22:18 UTC
With the latest versions of Evolution, whenever I delete a message in an IMAP folder, the message seems to get marked deleted (it disappears from my INBOX). However when I exit Evolution and then launch it some time later, the previously-deleted messages show up again in my mailbox (sometimes still unread). This doesn't happen 100% of the time, but I'd say 98%. The only way to ensure they stay deleted is to remember to manually expunge the folder before I exit (of course I don't remember to do that).
Is this about an IMAP or IMAPX provider account? See "Edit > Preferences > Mail Accounts > Protocol" Do you use another client to access the account at the same time?

Not actively, though I do have the account set up on my smart phone, it does poll my inbox occationally for new messages. However, the opposite situation cannot be said. If I read and delete an email message on my smart phone it stays deleted (no longer appears on the phone or Evolution). Other than my smart phone, I do not use any other client (web or otherwise) to access the account. Also this used to work before (the 3.2-4 series I tihnk).
Similar report with IMAP provider: bug #665056
(In reply to comment #3) > Similar report with IMAP provider: bug #665056 Oh, yes. I forgot (to mention) also withness the same behavoir as #665056. But I don't have offline syncing enabled.
This issue is addressed in bug #721286, thus I mark this as a duplicate of it. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 721286 ***
