Gnome-shell user (aka status menu) menu doesn't change ICQ status
Comment 1 Guillaume Desmottes 2012-05-03 11:25:36 UTC
Does it work with Empathy's presence chooser?
Comment 2 KEIII 2012-05-03 16:57:55 UTC
I can choose icq status from Empathy's contact list, but not gnome-shell user menu or ubuntu's indicator messages menu. This behavior for icq protocol, with Gtalk and Jabber works ok.
Comment 3 Guillaume Desmottes 2012-05-07 07:22:15 UTC
Interesting. Could you please:
- Make sure your icq account is connected
- dbus-monitor > /tmp/dbus.log
- Try to change your status using gnome-shell
- Once it fails attach /tmp/dbus.log

Comment 5 Guillaume Desmottes 2012-05-07 07:55:19 UTC
Hum I don't see anything about your ICQ account in this log. Was it connected when you tried disconnecting?

What's the output of 'mc-tool list' ?
Comment 6 KEIII 2012-05-07 08:00:25 UTC
Yes. It was online before I go offline from gnome-shell menu and after icq was online.

mc-tool list. Where I can find it?

script

Could you please download this small script and do the following:

- Make sure all your accounts are online, especially the ICQ one
- dbus-monitor > /tmp/dbus.log
- python presence.py offline
- Wait a few seconds
- python presence.py
- Stop dbus-monitor and attach it to this bug. Attach the output of presence.py as well

Comment 12 KEIII 2012-05-22 09:56:08 UTC
I noticed interesting thing
Incorrect behavior only after login,
but if run 'gnome-shell --replace'
after it I can change the status from gmone-shell status-menu
Comment 13 Dušan 2012-06-06 07:17:34 UTC
i have same issue. nothing helped for me.
i am using Fedora 17 32bit with Gnome 3.4.2 and Empathy 3.4.2.1
really want fix this issue :(
Comment 14 Constantine Nosovsky 2013-01-21 19:25:51 UTC
Same thing on Gentoo with GNOME 3.6.2.

I have several accounts (people nearby, gtalk, icq), people nearby and gtalk are affected by the changes made in status menu, but icq account only changes when status is selected from empathy itself.

Disabling google chat in Online accounts does not interfere with the described issue, so I guess it's not a somewhat magic combination of accounts.

Please ask me if any information or command output is needed for investigation.
