Description Stefan Förster 2012-04-29 06:20:43 UTC
Arch Linux recently upgraded Evolution from 3.2.3 to 3.4.1.

I have three machines running Arch Linux. On two of them, my wife and I use Evolution under KDE. On the third machine (an older notebook) I use Evolution under Fluxbox. => This bug appears in all installations, thus it is not window manager specific.

In version 3.4.1 some parts of the Evolution GUI are displayed with black or very dark grey background. Black text is not or very difficult to read:

1) The highlighted e-mail in the list of e-mails is displayed with darg grey background. Very hard to read, especially on notebooks.

2) The heading field of the side bar (which displays the folders in the e-mail mode) now has a black background. The text is not readable (black on black).

3) When I open an e-mail, the header is completely black. I can only see the two e-mail addresses (links) that are not printed in black colour. Also a black border is drawn around the text message.

This is very annoying. I tried to downgrade to the old version, but it seems that the format of the settings files have changed. Version 3.2.3 starts with an empty, grey window only.

I can provide screenshots, if needed.

I have the same EXACT problem on my Archlinux 64-bit box.
I also tried to downgrade but had the same problem.

Please fix as soon as possible, it's very annoying.

I'd like to add that selected text in an e-mail is also rendered "black on black".
