evince-3.2.1 button for adding annotations, gtk+-3.2.4 vs gtk+-3.4.1

(as reported downstream at https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=412751)

In evince-3.2 and 3.4, the button for creating a new annotation is not visible in the annotations "Add" palette when evince is run under gtk+-3.4.1. For me the button does not appear at all; others have reported that they can make it appear by doing some strange voodoo with resizing the evince window. However, the button appears reliably and correctly for me when viewing the same PDF document if the same version of evince is run under gtk+-3.2.4.
