GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 674260
Empathy accounts dialog no longer accessible after first use
Last modified: 2012-04-20 07:38:43 UTC
In Ubuntu 11.x ... 1. Start the Accounts dialog in Empathy 2. Make your changes 3. Click close 4. Try to re-open it again and it won't open After running a ps -A | grep 'empathy' I find that the empathy-accounts is still running. If I kill that running process I am able to continue to use the accounts dialog. I wonder if this isn't terminating properly. I tried to find a bug reporting this issue so I'm sorry if this is an overlap. Cheers
What's the exact Empathy version you are testing with? How exactly are you starting the accounts dialog in 1 and 4. How do you close it in 3? By clicking the 'Close' button in the bottom right corner?
Sorry Guillaume.. I should have included those details. Empathy: 3.2.0.1 (for Gnome/Ubuntu 11) Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch Empathy 2. Select Edit->Accounts 3. Click the Close button (bottom right) 4. Dialog disappears 5. Select Edit->Accounts 6. No dialog re-appears In Step 3 you can substitute this operation with the following (and it still repeats the problem stated). * clicking on the x button * Pressing F4 to launch the dialog Note: Killing the empathy-accounts process allows the accounts to appear again.
Interesting: could you please try the following: - Make sure empathy-accounts is not running - EMPATHY_DEBUG=all empathy-accounts - CLose the window Is the process still running? If it does could you please attach the log after you have closed the window?

You bet... I clicked the "Close" button for reference... let me know if you need anything else.
Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_main_quit: assertion `main_loops != NULL' failed is the problem. That's bug #662504 which has been fixed in Empathy 3.2.1.2 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 662504 ***
