GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 673476
[NetworkManager 0.9.40] NM disconnecting every 10 to 15 minutes with ipv6
Last modified: 2012-04-24 23:32:29 UTC
It is an "old" bug. Every 10 to 15 minutes, networkmanager disconnect and reconnect when using ipv6. Got this in my /var/log/errors.log Apr 4 07:53:21 localhost kernel: [ 3202.291124] ICMPv6 RA: ndisc_router_discovery() failed to add default route. Apr 4 07:57:36 localhost dhcpcd[5823]: eth0: sendmsg: Cannot assign requested address Apr 4 08:04:06 localhost kernel: [ 3847.332394] ICMPv6 RA: ndisc_router_discovery() failed to add default route. Apr 4 08:07:51 localhost dhcpcd[17676]: eth0: sendmsg: Cannot assign requested address Apr 4 08:16:58 localhost kernel: [ 4620.071902] ICMPv6 RA: ndisc_router_discovery() failed to add default route. Apr 4 08:18:06 localhost dhcpcd[23315]: eth0: sendmsg: Cannot assign requested address Apr 4 08:24:10 localhost kernel: [ 5051.693573] ICMPv6 RA: ndisc_router_discovery() failed to add default route. I'm using archlinux testing, linux kernel 3.3.1, NetworkManager 0.9.4.0, dhcpcd 5.5.6
This bug is also reported against Fedora 16: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=806170 Connection drops from time to time if IPv6 is configured as Automatic after kernel update from 3.2 to 3.3.
this is fixed in master (77de91e5)
