Description margaret_doll 2001-12-20 20:21:49 UTC
Package: panel
Version: 1.4.0.4
Severity:

>Synopsis: panel display at the bottom does not appear
>Class: sw-bug
System: kernel-2.4.9-13, glibc are at 2.2.4-13

>Description:
I upgraded the system to 7.2. Then I upgraded applications downloaded across the web for 7.2.
using "rpm -Uvh". Application upgrades which did not work included
balsa because it needed libempl.so.5 and libglkhtml.sl.9
glibc because there were a lot of conflicts
xemacs needed libcanna.so.1.0, libRKC.so.1.0, and libwm6.so.1.0

I then installed the new kernel and kernel.smp for 2.4.9-13. I added the new kernel configurations to /etc/lilo/conf, leaving the 2.4.7-10 in place with the boot up name modified. Ran lilo

The error occurs when the desktop for the user is being displayed.
