Description Ryan Schmidt 2012-03-31 02:38:20 UTC
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/userprefs.cgi says:

"The password must be no more than 16 characters long."

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455172 says:

"This limitation is gone since Bugzilla 3.6"

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/ says:

"version 3.4.13"

http://www.bugzilla.org/news/#release42 says:

"Please note that the release of Bugzilla 4.2 also marks End Of Life for the Bugzilla 3.4 series, meaning that there will be no further updates for the 3.4.x series, even if there are serious security issues found in that series. We recommend that all installations running the 3.4 series upgrade as soon as possible to 4.2."

Passwords issue is bug 647849.
EOL for 3.4 is upstream, we do maintain 3.4 in downstream.

Are you stating you don't intend to follow the Bugzilla project's recommendations and upgrade to a newer version of Bugzilla? Why not?

The password length issue may have been what prompted me to file this bug report in the first place, but I doubt that's the only improvement newer versions of Bugzilla would provide.

No.

Lack of manpower. Feel free to volunteer.
