Description Ryley Angus 2012-03-27 06:06:49 UTC
Overview: Using Mutter 3.3.92 and gnome-shell 3.3.92, mutter cannot run if multiple x screens are defined in xorg.conf.

Steps to reproduce: Have more than one xscreen in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

Expected result: Gnome-shell and mutter loads.

Actual result: gnome-shell fallback mode is entered instead, and it repeats all the menu items as many times as you have xscreens.

Mutter and gnome-shell both function perfectly when only one xscreen is defined. I know mutter currently doesn't support multiple x screens fully, but would it be possible for mutter to manage just xscreen 0? Or a user-defined xscreen?

So are there any plans to restrict mutter to one xscreen for the time being so it can run on at least one screen? Or is this not being considered at all?
