Last modified: 2018-06-29 23:07:32 UTC
Open gnucash Start the new file wizard At the "Save As..." dialog, press "Cancel" Insert some transactions Select "File", "Quit" No confirmation is issued, and data is lost. Only ~/translog*.log is saved.
Thank you for reporting this bug, however it appears to be a duplicate of Bug 658247. You are reporting this against version 2.4.7. This has been fixed in new versions of GnuCash. Can you install the latest version and check if this fixes the issue for you.
Closing this bug report as no further information has been provided. Please feel free to reopen this bug if you can provide the information asked for. Thanks!
I can't install a newer version, because I used the version provided with my distribution, Ubuntu 11.10.
I just tried this with yesterday's trunk and I can still reproduce this bug with the OP's steps. If it was fixed with the patches from bug 658247, then later changes broke it again (I haven't tested this though).

trunk r23053, thanks everyone! (Bounty apparently completed.)
Reassign version to 2.4.x so that individual 2.4 versions can be retired.
