GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 672371
In pitivi gstreamer plugin fails to demux raw dv file
Last modified: 2012-06-18 17:07:11 UTC
I've captured video using Kino via firewire using Raw DV format. When I try to import such files into Pitivi I get an error "Problem: Missing plugins:Digital Video (DV) System Stream demuxer" However, if I change the capture file format in Kino to DV Avi type2 I can import the files w/out a problem. I am attaching the .dv file (raw dv format).
I am running SalixOS 13.37 64bit Gstreamer/plugin packages information gst-plugins-base-compat32-0.10.32-x86_64-1 gst-plugins-good-compat32-0.10.28-x86_64-2 gstreamer-compat32-0.10.32-x86_64-1 gstreamer-0.10.32-x86_64-1 gst-plugins-bad-0.10.21-x86_64-1gv gst-plugins-base-0.10.32-x86_64-1 gst-plugins-good-0.10.28-x86_64-2 Kino version 1.3.4 Pitivi version 0.15.0

These releases are ancient, could you please try with more recent releases? The file from comment #2 works fine for me with git and with the latest releases (core/base 0.10.36, good 0.10.31, etc.)

Please feel free to reopen the bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of gstreamer.
