GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 672267
Unhandled lockdown error (-4)
Last modified: 2012-07-15 19:24:23 UTC
Running Ubuntu 10.10, when I launch Banshee via Terminal, this is the message I get. [Info 13:51:25.234] Running Banshee 1.8.1: [Ubuntu 10.10 (linux-gnu, i686) @ 2011-02-02 09:04:16 UTC] [Info 13:51:27.261] Updating web proxy from GConf [Info 13:51:27.369] All services are started 1.793432 [Info 13:51:28.297] nereid Client Started [Info 13:51:28.581] AppleDeviceSource is ignoring unmounted volume Ethan's iPod [Warn 13:51:28.595] Caught an exception - System.InvalidOperationException: Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object (in `Banshee.Dap.AppleDevice') at Banshee.Dap.AppleDevice.AppleDeviceSource.DeviceInitialize (IDevice device) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Banshee.Dap.DapService.FindDeviceSource (IDevice device) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 Device 0 (VID=05ac and PID=129e) is UNKNOWN. Please report this VID/PID and the device model to the libmtp development team [Warn 13:51:29.350] Unable to get battery level from MTP device - Mtp.LibMtpException: Could not retrieve battery stats (in `Mtp') at Mtp.MtpDevice.GetBatteryLevel (Mtp.MtpDeviceHandle handle, System.UInt16& maxLevel, System.UInt16& currentLevel) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Mtp.MtpDevice.get_BatteryLevel () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Banshee.Dap.Mtp.MtpSource.DeviceInitialize (IDevice device) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 ERROR: Could not close session! inep: usb_get_endpoint_status(): No such device outep: usb_get_endpoint_status(): No such device usb_clear_halt() on IN endpoint: No such device usb_clear_halt() on OUT endpoint: No such device usb_clear_halt() on INTERRUPT endpoint: No such device
I'd prefer not to update to 11.04 or 11.10 if possible. I really like 10.10 UI. (as I have tested Banshee on both 11.xx versions and I was able to mount and see the device properly).
Thank you for your bug report. Is Banshee crashing or just not showing your iPod ? I think the problem is caused by the fact that your iPod is not supported by the version of libgpod available on Ubuntu 10.10. Then libmtp tries to handle it, and of course also fails. So I don't think there's anything Banshee can do here.
