Description jwaynej 2001-12-19 04:54:53 UTC
Package: nautilus
Severity: normal
Version: 1.0.4
Synopsis: Nautilus does not work on Ximian Solaris - huge memory allocation
Bugzilla-Product: nautilus
Bugzilla-Component: general

Description:
When starting Nautilus on Solaris Ximian, it goes on a memory hogging
spree. Nautilus tried to allocate almost 2GB RAM and was actually using
930MB of my 1GB physical (found out be using top and prstat). It had to
be killed via command line. This problem has been reproduced by a
colleage of mine on a another (similar system).

Comment 1 Darin Adler 2001-12-19 06:46:43 UTC
If this is Ximian's build of Nautilus, you should take it up with
them at bugzilla.ximian.com.

I know that some Solaris users are able to use Nautilus successfully,
so perhaps there's something wrong with the Ximian build.
Comment 2 John Fleck 2002-01-17 15:54:41 UTC
Haven't heard anything back. I'm curious if the reporter has had any
further luck with the approach Darin suggested.

for bug under Ximian.

Found the duplicate this matches.

Could you add any comments to that bug report about the situation now?
Are you still having the problem?
