GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 671868
Areas of "frozen" video are observed in Ekiga 3.2.7 on Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit
Last modified: 2015-06-08 21:50:59 UTC
Created attachment 209461 [details] Areas of "frozen" video visible in the Ekiga local video preview pane. My test system is a Dell Precision T3400 workstation running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit. It has a Quadro-class nVidia graphics card installed. Ekiga 3.2.7 is installed. A Logitech C600 webcam is connected as the video input source. Upon launching Ekiga and enabling the video call panel, what I can only describe best as "frozen" portions of the video are observed at the borders of the local video preview pane. If the Ekiga application window is minimized and maximized, the area of "frozen" video is observed to change. The same behaviour is observed if the local video preview button is toggled off and on. The attached screengrab illustrates this phenomenon. The behaviour is 100 percent consistent and reproducible.
I have never seen that. Does it appear on other resolutions too?
Hi Eugen, Yes, across all available resolutions as selectable in the Ekiga interface, i.e.: 176x144 352x288 704x576 320x240 640x480
Dave, does this appear with 3.9.90 too?
Hi Eugen, I cannot get a local video preview at all under version 3.9.90. This is attempting to use either the built-in webcam on the host Dell Latitude E6420 laptop, or using an attached Logitech HD Webcam C510. In both cases I am using the PTLIB/Directshow driver (using the Microsoft WDM Image Capture driver crashes Ekiga). I'll open a new bug report for this. Cheers, Dave
Yes, open a new bug report, but did it worked with 3.2.7? If yes, attach both logs to see what happens...
