Description narnie 2012-03-07 22:55:34 UTC
I was browsing for icons in /usr/share/icons on a debian testing system.

I used nautilus in that directory to search for "edit" and it found nothing. I searched for "menu" and it found nothing. Finally I searched for "gnome" and again it found nothing.

Using "find . -iname "*edit*"|wc -l, I found 542 icons for edit, 93 for menu, and 5565 for gnome.

To be clear, I am using no "filters" or adding anything as far as ways to limit the search. Just putting "edit", "gnome", and "menu" into the text entry location.

Why isn't nautilus finding this icon files?

I also tried wildcards like "*edit*" and again, nothing. Is searching broken on this version of nautilus?
