GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 670848
Text tool - full justification
Last modified: 2012-02-28 10:45:11 UTC
Created attachment 208453 [details] Image of the cropped characters on the right side of a text box I have found this bug using GIMP 2.6.11. When full justify is used some fonts (eg Vivaldi italic condended, or Arial bold italic) are cropped on the right side of the text box. The problem seems to be related with the italic version of some fonts and only when full justification is used. This cropping issue is more visible with tall characters, like words that end with f or l. How to reproduce the bug: 1 - Select the text tool 2 - Click on the image area and make a text box. 3 - Enter a few paragraphs to have a few lines to check 4 - Select an Italic font like Vivaldi italic condended, or Arial bold italic 5 - Select full justification 6 - Inspect the right margin of the text box and search for cropped characters Please find attached image of the results. This is my first bug report hope I did it properly.
Hi Federico, Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Please try the unstable GIMP development version 2.7.4 (or later) and report back if the problem still exists, as there will not be any more fixes to the stable GIMP version 2.6.x. Unofficial Windows builds for 2.7.x are available at http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-win/files/GIMP%20%2B%20GTK%2B%20%28development%20rel.%29/
